Living and learning with nature

Free time

When football is not on the agenda, our youth are enthusiastic about the other sports offered at the DBS campus or enjoy their free time: outdoor swimming, visits to cafés, etc.

Cities, mountains & lakes

Trips to Rosenheim, skiing in Bayrischzell or a boat trip across the Chiemsee? There is no shortage of excursion destinations for young and old in the picturesque foothills of the Alps.

The recreational opportunities for students at DFI in Bad Aibling are extremely diverse. Due to its proximity to the Bavarian Alps and the state capital Munich, the surrounding area offers the perfect conditions for a variety of leisure activities.

DFI Bad Aibling is just a ten-minute drive from the Alps. Ideal for our students and also their parents and friends who like to go to the ski slopes. In summer there are countless opportunities for cycling and hiking.

It's a 20-minute drive to the Wendelstein, an unforgettable destination for mountain hikers, with views as far as Munich awaiting them should they climb the 1,838 meters to the summit cross.

At the gates of Munich

Just under 50 km from Bad Aibling lies Munich - the cosmopolitan city with a heart. Here you have ideal access to Munich Airport, the city itself, and the extremely attractive football clubs around the city.

There is always something on offer for winter sports enthusiasts as well. In the immediate vicinity of the boarding school awaits evening skiing and tobogganing in Oberaudorf, which has been awarded as the best in Germany. A few kilometers away, daredevils can plunge down the mountain on snow tubes in Kössen.

The B&O Park also has a lot to offer youth. Among other things, basketball courts, beach volleyball, and a baseball field await young sports-lovers in the sports park, which can be used by DFI students thanks to a cooperation agreement with the city of Bad Aibling. A highlight is certainly "Johnny's Bowling Center," which is run by a former professional bowler and is frequented by DFI students for exciting matches.
